Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish, where bloggers come up with their top ten list on different subjects every week.
This week we're talking about books and novels! My two great loves are books and music so this theme was definitely a highlight post to make. I didn't have to think hard of some songs I wished were novels since I've been wishing for these below to forever have been novels!
1. This is Beautiful by Tyrone Wells
This song is just like the title; beautiful. The lyrics are just gorgeous, like "You set off avalanches in my heart". I could definitely see this as a YA novel equivalent like Where Rainbows End about a friendship turned to love.
2. Dollhouse by Melanie Martinez
This would make THE perfect Pretty Little Liars esque novel, a YA thriller or mystery about an imperfect family that hide a lot of skeletons in their closet.
3. Somebody To Love by Kacey Musgraves
I knew I had to include one of Kacey's songs in my post. Her songs are like a little novels in themselves and Somebody To Love sounds like a YA novel with strong female leads dealing with real issues, love and friends.
4. Mary May & Bobby by Joe Purdy
This is so, so clearly meant to be a novel. It tells the story of Mary May and Bobby in such a sweet, young love way. It would make the perfect novel with sweet lyrics like "We could live out by the sea, like they do on the movie screens."
5. Secret Love Song by Little Mix & Jason Derulo
This one totally speaks for itself. It's a secret love song that would make for an epic YA page-turner.
6. Moondust by Jaymes Young
THIS IS A SCI-FI NOVEL JUST WAITING TO HAPPEN.
7. Family Tree by Matthew West
A song this beautiful and tragic would make a tearjerker YA novel about families and the struggles to live up to certain expectations - I need to read the novel!
8. James Dean & Audrey Hepburn by Sleeping With Sirens
A song about love, with lyrics like "They say that love is forever, your forever is all that I need" sounds like a Stephanie Perkins novel in the making without a doubt.
9. Superman by Rachel Platten
This song is so beautiful lyrically that when I heard it when I bought Rachel's CD I played it non-stop. I could just imagine this as a soundtrack to a comic-book type of read in YA or Adult literature with Superman and Lois Lane types of characters.
10. Nothin' Like You by Dan and Shay
Finally, one of my favourite country duos. I could've picked a handful of songs that would have made perfect novels on their debut Where It All Began, but Nothin' Like You is my favourite so I'll be bias in that way that this would be PERFECT for a novel.
So, that's my chosen ten! What are your 10 for Top Ten Tuesday?
Do you think any of these songs are book-worthy?
